A consultation starts with examination and a plain explanation of the realistic options, including what cannot be achieved. Wound and scar problems, non-healing ulcers, burn injuries and post-traumatic defects are the most common reasons patients are referred.
Procedures are carried out in the modular operation theatre with anaesthesia cover, and the ICU is available for recovery where a patient needs closer monitoring.

- Scars, including scars that restrict movement
- Burn injuries and their after-effects
- Soft-tissue injury after an accident
- Skin and soft-tissue lumps
- Infected wounds needing surgical cleaning
